About

Picnic is a community for practical skill sharing.
We learn and teach anything practical that fits a 2 hour workshop.
Workshops are nomadic, community-fueled & decentralised.
Our community is inclusive, friendly & safe.

We believe that…

  • Learning is fun
  • Learning is even more fun together
  • Learning happens by doing
  • You can learn (almost) anything
  • Teaching gives a deeper level of engagement with a subject
  • Everyone has something to share
  • Learning doesn’t have to be expensive

This is how it works:

  1. See the list of workshops at tinyurl.com/learnandteach
  2. Leave your name at a topic you’d like to learn or teach
  3. Propose a new topic. Absolutely anything that could be covered in a 2 hour workshop is welcome!
  4. When enough people are interested in your workshop, organise it!
Time: Use the mailing list below to start talking dates and times, or use a tool like doodle.
Space: As a teacher you know best what kind of setting fits your workshop well. You can choose to teach anywhere from local cafe to your own livingroom and from neighbourhood pub to the park around the corner.
  5. Invite anyone you like to learn and teach with! Share “tinyurl.com/picniclondongroup” and let people ‘apply to join group’.
  6. Share any thoughts and ideas below by starting a topic or mail to picniclondon@googlegroups.com
Have fun!
